一緒に暮らす兄には、の夕方、台所と食卓を一時間ほど使っていいか聞き、いいと言ってもらった。春は仕事を終え、待ち合わせた恵美にスマホを。「自分の料理を家で試したくて。説明を一つだけ見てくれる？」「店で出すの？」「いや、まず自分で作ってみるだけ」「一つなら。どれ？」「これ。『季節のスープとパン』」「おいしそう。でも、これは？ それとも、お昼ごはん？」春は画面から顔を上げた。「が少なそう？」「まだがわからないの。おやつだと思って食べるのと、お昼にこれを食べるのでは、欲しいが違うでしょ」自分からを求めたものの、春は答えられなかった。がと言われた気がして、写真を見せようとした。でも、まだ作っていない。「食べればわかると思う」「じゃあ、説明より先にスプーンが必要ね」恵美の笑いに、春も少し笑った。「、六時半にうちで試食するんだけど、来られる？ 一時間くらい」「その時間なら大丈夫。食べたい」春はうなずいた。試食には、サムも誘ってみよう。食べるのことなら、具体的な答えが返ってきそうだった。画面の説明は、そのまま残した。

Plain-form verb + ものの acknowledges a fact, then gives something contrary to an expectation. 春 asked for feedback, yet could not answer the question it raised. Both facts are true. Vocabulary review: 正式（せいしき） means “official / formally established”; a home tasting does not make a menu 正式なメニュー.
