Reading notes
a price tag
the cuff or opening at the end of a sleeve
holding or carrying in one’s arms
folded; past form of 畳む(たたむ). Here, folding the jacket.
a wrinkle or crease
a mirror
the end of a piece of thread
was tilted or leaning; past form of 傾く(かたむく). 本が傾く describes the books leaning. 本を傾ける would mean someone tilts them; here, Emi steadies them.
One expression · からといって · just because

Study example, not a story quote:

Plain form + からといって rejects an automatic conclusion: deciding to sell something does not necessarily make it easy to let go. わけではない means “it does not mean that.” The example makes a general point; it does not tell us what happens tomorrow. Word focus: 手間(てま) is the time and effort a task takes. 袖口の修理に手間をかける means putting work into repairing a cuff, not necessarily spending money.
